There are several area resources available to assist eligible households with major repairs, fair housing, credit issues, financial planning, matched savings accounts, foreclosure prevention counseling and more. Many of these services are offered free of charge or at a minimal cost.
Neighborhood Housing Partnership of Greater Springfield: (937) 322-4623
NHP of Greater Springfield provides homebuyer and foreclosure prevention courses, credit counseling, down payment and closing cost assistance, loans for home repair, contractor referral and construction monitoring, and many other services

CAP offers many programs, including: the Benefit Bank helps to connect low and moderate-income individuals and families with potential public benefits; the Utility Assistance Through the Winter Crisis Program; the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) to help manage utility bills and maintain services; the Weatherization program, Senior Nutrition programs; a Transitional Housing Program for eligible individuals who are homeless, unemployed, or underemployed; and the Work Ready program.

Greene Metropolitan Housing Authority: (937) 376-2908
Assists eligible elderly, single, near-elderly, handicapped, disabled and families to find their own unit, enter into a lease directly with the owner and to have GMHA supplement their rent payments to the owner. They also provide assistance with section 8 vouchers. GHMA also has public housing and low-income home ownership programs.
